DALSTON ROOF PARK
Dalston Roof Park is currently closed for the Winter.
Nestled amongst Hackney’s Victorian buildings and overlooking London’s skyscrapers, Dalston’s only rooftop venue is an opportunity to relax, eat, drink, dance and see the London landscape differently. Framed by the city skyline, our rooftop oasis transforms what was once a forgotten space into a garden music venue, plushly turfed and brimming with flowers, palm tree’s and a Martin Audio Soundsystem!
Newly refurbished for 2017, DRP boasts two bars, in house catering, a state of the art retractable roofing system (to protect against bad weather) and so much more!
We want our park to be used and enjoyed by everybody. We actively encourage young people to engage in the garden, and events – if this sounds like you – get in touch. We’d love to hear from any budding gardeners, photographers, painters, DJ’s, Promoters and more!
The DRP Story
Inspired by Robert Hammond’s New York High Line, the DRP began as a collection of allotments cared for by a group of local volunteer gardeners, with a pop-up bar and a programme curated by a team of Bootstrap staff and tenants who organised music and film nights they would like to attend themselves.
Since it’s early days the DRP has seen a phenomenal rise in popularity, and it’s astro-turf has been graced by the likes of Rudimental, Jessie Ware, Johnny Flynn, Basement Jaxx, Disclosure and a whole host of cutting edge promoters, artists and labels; the same level of care continues to go into our events to this day!
Last year the DRP created new London Living Wage jobs on the DRP team, employed Bootstrap Campus graduates and put on over 130 events across the summer, including charity fundraisers, leading London based club nights, social impact community events, fashion shows, film screenings, mini carnivals and more!
The profits made on the bar and on the door all go towards funding Bootstrap Company’s charitable aims.
Food & Drink
This year DRP welcomes a whole host of new gastronomic experiences to the roof. Stemming from our roots as a volunteer-run collection of allotments, we will continue our passion for seasonal, local and ethical produce.
Throughout the summer we are collaborating with culinary gurus ‘Far Our Food‘ to curate a seasonal menu to cater for all tastes!
