Assistant Bar Manager, Dalston Roof Park

Fixed-Term Contract (6 months), 45 hours per week
Salary in the region of £26,000 (dependent on experience)

Job Overview:
To assist the Venue Manager in running the Dalston Roof Park during the summer season, including managing bar team and contractors and providing a great customer experience

Reports To: Venue Manager

Responsibilities and Duties:
 Ensure that the venue is run in a safe manner in accordance with the conditions of
the license and Health and Safety requirements
 Follow all company security procedures, including loss prevention measures and
procedures for the security of staff and premises
 Ensure that all health and safety, fire and building regulations are complied with
 Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a high standard of customer
management at all times, including dealing with difficult customers/ clients
 Manage bar team, ensuring venue is staffed to the right level
 Monitor and manage all maintenance issues and manage third-party contractors,
including cleaners, if required by the Venue Manager
 Monitor daily sales, margins and expenditure
 Order stock and other goods as required from preferred suppliers, and ensure
secure and safe-keeping of stock, goods and equipment, and stock control
 Ensure all cash is controlled and accounted for, floats and tills are reconciled,
sufficient provision of floats and safes properly maintained.
 Complete Duty Logs and send to Manager to ensure standards are maintained and
handover of any issues
 Work with accounting team to ensure they are provided with timely financial
information in the Venue Manager’s absence
 Ensure all Bootstrap Company human resources policies and procedures are
adhered to
 Any other reasonable duties as required
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
 Previous experience of working in a bar/ venue
 Experience of managing a bar team, security staff, and working with promoters
 Be a personal licence holder
 Technologically confident with experience of using excel and electronic point of sale.
EPOS, iZettle and Xero would be desirable
 Be organised, have excellent attention to detail whilst managing at the macro level
 Ability to get on with a diverse range of people, especially in highly pressurised
